RICS Highlight the Value of Chartered Surveyors' Expertise
In a publicity drive to highlight the benefits of instructing Chartered Surveyors to deal with commercial property matters the RICS have produced a detailed booklet entitled "Property Solutions" giving a simple question and answer guide to buying and leasing business space.
The RICS have also come up with some interesting statistics. For example 80% of businesses do not take expert property advice when buying or leasing premises. They may consult their solicitor and accountant when deciding to move but not a surveyor. Great savings can be made during negotiations and an experienced Surveyor will prove invaluable at this stage. It is also estimated that businesses could save up to 13% on annual running costs by bringing in a Chartered Surveyor to check out rating assessments, service charges and the like.
The lesson is, pause before you sign, and consult a Chartered Surveyor. The fees involved will be more than covered by savings made.
